Mill Rods
Mill rods large grinding media bars cut to length for use in rod mills. It is available in various carbon and high chrome grades and are cut to customer lengths.
Available bar sizes are:
38.1mm, 40mm, 50.8mm, 60mm, 63mm, 63.5mm, 70mm, 76.2mm, 80mm, 85mm, 88mm and 100mm
Hot Strip Mill
​Along with the Long Products Mill that has been in operation for many years, Scaw is expanding its steel portfolio to enter the flat product market in South Africa.

Presently, under construction, the Hot Strip Mill will produce narrow to medium width HRC (Hot Rolled Coil).
The design, mechanical and automation equipment is supplied to Scaw by Danieli & C. S.p.A. Italy. The hot strip flat product produced by the mill will feed into downstream beneficiary pipe mill companies within the Barnes Group of Companies and for other domestic re-rollers in the South African market.
The HSM will use prime quality slabs which will be rolled into various widths with thicknesses from between 1.2mm to 8mm gauges.
